Christ Church- Port Tobacco Parish, 1692

The Parish was among the 30 Church of England parishes established in 1692 by the Provincial Assembly.  In 1884 a new stone church, fashioned after the style of English country churches was built on Port Tobacco Square.  In 1904 the church was dismantled and moved to its present location by oxcart that carried the numbered stones to LaPlata.  Narthex windows celebrate Maryland, the Episcopal church, and parish history.

Open 10:00 A. M.-2:00 P.M. Tuesday-Friday.

Services at 8:00 A. M. and 10:00 A. M. each Sunday
