Incentives

Businesses looking to expand or considering Charles County for the first time will find that there are a wide range of incentives and programs to work with. The Charles County Economic Development Department (EDD) can help companies navigate the various incentive programs available to develop a customized package that best fits their business needs.

An incentive package is generally determined and offered based on one or more of the following:

  • Number of jobs created
  • Average wages of those new jobs
  • Gross annual payroll generated
  • Capital investment
  • Amount of new taxes generated by the project
  • Whether the project falls under one of Charles County's key industries
  • Other direct economic benefits to Charles County
