Legacy Planning For Your Business-Series of Eight Sessions 2026, September 2-October 28; Wednesdays at 3pm (with the exception of October 14)

Secure Your Legacy with Business Transition Planning! It is never too early to begin planning for your business changeover for when you retire or sell your business. The Legacy Planning For Your Business Program, through a series of trainings presented by professionals who are subject matter experts in the areas listed below, will assist you through the important and crucial steps to begin planning your business transition. You want this to be a smooth movement forward with success for all involved and this track program will provide the expert advice you need. And this important part of your business plan will be of interest to lenders and potential buyers!

***Attention Western Region-Garrett, Allegany and Washington Counties Businesses Only: Participants who successfully complete the virtual Legacy Transition Series may be eligible to apply for up to $500 in Technical Assistance funding, subject to committee review and approval. In addition, participants from Maryland’s Western Region who attend all virtual sessions will be invited to an exclusive in-person workshop, which includes networking opportunities and lunch. The workshop is designed to help business owners apply the concepts covered in the series, connect with resource partners and peers, and develop practical strategies for succession planning, business continuity, and successful ownership transition. Presented by the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Legacy Transition Series provides guidance and resources to help business owners prepare for the future of their businesses. This regional initiative is proudly sponsored by the Tri-County Council for Western Maryland and supported by the Chambers of Commerce of Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties, whose partnership helps strengthen business succession planning and economic vitality throughout the region.
