Special Events Success: Friendraiser/Fundraiser
Thursday, April 15, 2021, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Event fundraising and special events are commonly a way of life for nonprofits. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic radically changed the way we work and socialize resulting in the cancellation of many signature events. This class will examine the response of two or three organizations that adapted to social distancing requirements to avoid canceling their fundraising event. We will also examine the role of special events: how to fit them into your organization's overall development plan, how to budget for them and make an accurate determination of net income, and how to maximize their effectiveness. Susan Vogel, chief development officer for the Melanoma Research Foundation, and Kristin Kauffman, chair of the board of directors for Southern Maryland Community Resources and chief marketing officer for Cedar Point Federal Credit Union, are the instructors for this class.
