Local Business Community Invited to Participate in Disparity Study

Published Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Charles County Government, in collaboration with the Economic Development Department, has contracted Griffin & Strong, P.C. to conduct a Comprehensive Disparity Study, to evaluate and make recommendations for procurement policies and practices. In addition, the Study will independently assess equitable participation of Minority Business Enterprise businesses.

A Disparity Study is an objective research tool whose findings of discrimination are a prerequisite to any race or gender-based remedial program. Griffin & Strong, a law and public policy consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a nationally recognized expert in disparity research.  Public participation in the Study is critical to the accuracy of the Study’s findings and recommendations, which will result in policy recommendations for Charles County.

Griffin & Strong, P.C. will kick off the Study by hosting a Virtual Public Information Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 17. This online session will allow the community to ask questions, learn about the study process, and discuss how they can participate. The meeting will be held:
