Waldorf, Md. – The Charles County Economic Development Department (EDD) will encourage businesses to grow globally at its International Trade Seminar on Thursday, March 14. The event, will be held at the Waldorf’s Hilton Garden Inn (10385 O'Donnell Place) from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will explore export opportunities available in Africa — one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The Charles County Commissioners are pleased to announce Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Investors Services affirmed high ratings for the county's general obligation bonds. Moody's Investors Service assigned an "Aa1" rating, and Fitch Ratings assigned Charles County's general obligation bonds an "AAA" rating, the highest rating issued by the agency.

The Charles County Commissioners are pleased to announce the move of two affiliated manufacturing firms to Charles County, resulting in nearly 50 new county jobs. MPM Communications, LCC, commonly known as ABR Services, is a 40-employee company that is relocating from Woodbridge, Va. starting in December 2013. Jim Buckley Offsetting & Services, Inc., known as JBO Printing, relocated nine jobs from Forestville, Md. to Waldorf in June 2013.
