Business Development Coordinator
Chudi Obi serves as the Business Development Coordinator for Charles County Economic Development Department (EDD) and works under the Chief of Business Development. Chudi supports the department’s business development programs, projects, and activities, with a focus on business engagement, research, planning, and collaboration with businesses and stakeholders. He supports business retention and expansion initiatives and advocates for existing local businesses.
Prior to joining the EDD, Chudi was an apprentice with the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP). A nonprofit, public-private organization, the WDCEP works to cultivate the tools, infrastructure, workforce, accessibility, and climate needed for D.C. businesses to flourish. He had the opportunity to work with programs designed to help DC businesses handle the pandemic-induced recession. In addition, he worked with the DC government in finding economic solutions.
Mr. Obi holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia.
Outside of work, Mr. Obi enjoys reading, watching movies, traveling, exercising, and foodie activities.
