Deborah E. Hall, CPA, is the Deputy County Administrator for Charles County Government and is currently serving as the Acting Director for the Economic Development Department. She was appointed Deputy County Administrator on August 5, 2013 and previously held the position of Director of Fiscal and Administrative Services.
Ms. Hall holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore. Ms. Hall graduated Magna Cum Laude and received her Certificate of Public Accounting (CPA) in 1992.
Prior to Ms. Hall’s experience in government, she worked in the public accounting industry. In addition to her public accounting background, Ms. Hall possesses over 24 years of experience in governmental accounting and finance. In her current role as Deputy County Administrator, Ms. Hall provides leadership, program direction, policy guidance, and administrative management to assist the County Administrator in carrying out assigned activities; coordinates activities that are often diverse and difficult to integrate and administer; represents the County Administrator on a wide range of matters within the County government, to other government entities, private organizations, and community groups; and initiates proposals, policies, projects, and programs to improve County services, responds to mandated requirements, and meets the needs of County residents.
Ms. Hall is an active member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and has completed the Senior Executive Institute (SEI) held at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville Campus. Ms. Hall is also an active member in the Governmental Finance Officers Association and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). Ms. Hall is past President and Treasurer of the Southern Maryland Chapter of the MACPA and has held the position of President twice.
