Nurturing Wellness: Health-Conscious Black-owned Businesses in Charles County

Each August, we proudly observe National Black Business Month. Against the backdrop of an expanding healthcare sector in Charles County, we're showcasing the pivotal role that health-conscious Black-owned enterprises play in enriching well-being and bolstering the community's holistic health. In Charles County, we're invigorated by the multitude of enterprises dedicated to championing healthier lifestyles, whether through their merchandise or the health-oriented services they provide. Throughout this month, we invite you to support these Black-owned businesses and join us in commemorating their commitment to nurturing well-being in every dimension – physically, mentally, and spiritually.

 

Shabach Yoga Studio

Run by former avid runner and Reiki Master Courtenay S. Brown, this Charles County yoga studio offers countless yoga classes for all fitness levels, as well as a comprehensive 200-hour yoga teacher training course and guided workshops. As a member of the Black Yoga Teachers Alliance and the International Association of Reiki Professionals, Courtenay S. Brown and her team of talented teachers invite everyone to discover the warm and friendly community of Shabach Yoga.

SRL: Total Source Technologies

Hospitals, clinics, and healthcare institutions with an ever-growing need for effective patient data management are fortunate to have SRL: Total Source Technologies in Waldorf, MD. SRL, which stands for “Superior, Reliable, Lasting,” is a government contractor that provides cloud-based data management and IT solutions for medical facilities and the healthcare industry more broadly. As a service-disabled, veteran-owned company, CEO Robert Lane Jr. is consistently engaged in improving veteran health solutions. Much of the work SRL does goes directly to creating lasting impact for the agencies whose primary mission is providing critical support and care for the United States Armed Forces and their families.
