Charles County's 2025 Business Appreciation Week

Each year, Charles County’s Business Appreciation Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions of our local businesses while also expressing our sincere gratitude for their commitment to operating in our community. Local businesses are vital to Charles County’s economy, providing essential goods, services, and job opportunities.

Join us in celebrating and supporting Charles County’s business community during our upcoming 2025 Business Appreciation Week, held from May 5-9. This event is also part of National Economic Development Week, a nationwide celebration that highlights the importance of economic development and the dedicated efforts of economic developers across the country.

Monday, May 5

Ribbon Cuttings

Ribbon cuttings will celebrate both new and established businesses in Charles County. These ceremonies will honor businesses that are either new to the county or those that have yet to hold a formal grand opening.

Tuesday, May 6

Proclamation by Charles County Board of County Commissioners

The Charles County Board of County Commissioners will issue a proclamation declaring May 5-9, 2025, as Economic Development Week and Business Appreciation Week in Charles County.

Charles County Business Wellness Workshop

Charles County's Business Wellness Workshop will offer a series of impactful sessions led by industry experts, along with presentations from resource partners, designed to provide strategies, insights, and valuable connections for business health. These sessions will focus on key topics including finance, technology, marketing, and government contracting.

The event will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Charles County Public Library's Waldorf West Branch, located at 10405 O'Donnell Place in Waldorf, Maryland. Business Engagement Visits

The EDD team, in partnership with business ambassadors comprised of community leaders, elected officials, and stakeholders, will visit businesses across Charles County. These visits aim to gain insight into each local business's challenges, successes, and overall experience in the county.

Business Networking Mixer

The EDD, in collaboration with the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, will host a Business Networking Mixer at Copper Compass Distillery (4317 Charles Crossing Dr, White Plains, MD). Charles County residents, businesses, and elected officials will be in attendance.
