Our Administrative Coordinator at Charles County Economic Development, Lacey Herbert, provides administrative support for the entire organization. Lacey oversees departmental tasks such as scheduling meetings, handling procurement requests, assisting with the budget, and processing payroll. Lacey also posts web updates for the department, as well as assists with the newsletter and updates several of our important databases. She also serves as the Secretary of the Economic Development Advisory Board.
Lacey is often the face and voice of the department since she serves as the first point of contact for callers and visitors. Her friendliness, professionalism, and knowledge make CCEDD’s visitors and callers feel welcome and supported. In Lacey’s regular interactions with the local business community, she provides essential information and assistance that helps business owners thrive.
Lacey's contributions to our team are multifaceted, including her in-depth expertise in the County's software, along with her comprehensive knowledge of Charles County Government's systems, procedures, and an extensive network of contacts and personnel. She is also a lifelong resident of Charles County, adding to her passion for the CCEDD mission. She enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her kids (Sean and Devin) and husband Joe. Lacey says, “My favorite part of my job is being a part of making Charles County a better place for my kids to grow up in, work, and raise their families.”
Prior to joining the Charles County Economic Development Department in 2012, Lacey worked for Charles County Government's Department of Planning and Growth Management. Lacey is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and she holds a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) Certification, an Organizational Management (OM) Specialty, a Meeting & Event Planning (MEP) Specialty, and a Business Writing Specialty with the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).
Lacey’s favorite part about living and working in Charles County is the beautiful scenery near the different bodies of water. She and her family enjoy spending time near the water fishing, having picnics, and enjoying quality time together outdoors.
